General Requirements to become a Military Chaplain:
Calvary Chapel has been approved by the Department of Defense to place Calvary Chapel pastors into the
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard on active duty and the Reserves as military chaplains.
The Department of Defense’s educational requirement for a military chaplain is a Masters of Divinity or equivalent.
Calvary Chapel’s requirement to become a Calvary Chapel endorsed military chaplain is similar to the requirements of
becoming a Calvary Chapel pastor. The military chaplain candidate will be raised up at a local Calvary Chapel by its
acting senior pastor.
Calvary Chapel has set up a Military Chaplain Board that will review, interview, and help prepare each interested candidate.
Calvary Chapel Military Chaplaincy is available to help any Calvary church or individual to minister to our men and women
who are guarding our freedoms to worship our God, it is our great responsibility!
